Fountain Blvd. Uintah Ave. Project Vida values the access to affordable and decent housing. In the Affordable housing program, the housing departments owns or manages many apartment complexes, duplexes and single family homes of 1, 2 and 3 bedrooms for qualifying low- and moderate-income families in the greater El Paso area.
All Project Vida properties are clean, safe, well maintained; have easy access to public transportation, schools and other services; and enhance the neighborhoods where they are located. For more information about the background of the program, the services currently provided, and how to access these service, please click on each of the headings bellow.
This program started in May of , first with 8 units in the central area of El Paso. It was created out of a need for affordable housing, and was discovered that even if people could afford their rent, that did not mean they had the resources to manage the up-keep of their propriety.
As well, other services such as those from the department of housing and urban development that exist for the purpose of affordable housing have long waiting-list, and more short-term solutions were needed during the procedures of long-term solutions.
In , Project Vida also became part of a tax credit program, which has allowed for people to have lower rents and lower payments. Currently, Project Vida operates and maintains 15 complexes, in various neighborhoods of El Paso. Through the Department of Housing and Urban Development, Project Vida provides these units at affordable rents and ensures the maintenance of these properties, for families who qualify.
What they should require is that for every new housing development they allow there should be built a affordable housing next door. And the racist HOAs want to keep the riff raff out and living far enough away yet close enough to clean thier yards and homes. Crime is the new normal in our society. A lot of the Broadmoor area is built out. The city can provide incentives tax breaks etc and btw,I do believe there are some poor non minorities around here that need affordable housing too.
Qualifying should be based on income. Top Stories. By Scott Harrison. July 29, PM.
