There are many restaurants, shops and bars within walking distance. Close to restaurants and cool stores". Plenty of good views. People are all very dog friendly and there are a ton of dog vets and stores around. It has become more safe and more diverse because of gentrification.
And you always feel safe here. The local grade school is safe and improving academically. Green space is limited to a few local parks. There are many activities in the neighborhood ". There are still a few bad eggs, but they are disappearing. Although on the weekends some of the younger crowd can be loud at night. Regardless they are respectful of their neighbors and the children. In order to get to the Girard el stop, first you must pass the sea of crack heads hanging by the sev and dollar store. Some days they can be annoying but sometimes the hang across the street and I find myself missing them. Anyways, my commute is usually great. Full of bars and Millenial trashy people!! Schools are terrible and little to no activities for children.
Recreation centers are in desperate need of repair. Streets are in terrible condition and over development is a continuous nightmare. Great transportation. Delicious restaurants for the foodie in you, comedy clubs, walking trails. So much diversity and culture around every corner. Everything in Fishtown is walkable. The greatest place to live and raise a family.
